Each artifact is unique, distinct, an exploration in brilliant colours, designs and techniques. The luxurious texture of pure habotai silk, silk charmeuse and silk chiffons combined with French and Jacquard dye.
Poshaq silk scarves,ponchos, ties are wearable art handpainted by artist Joyita Ghose.Each item is painted individually by Joyita, giving each one of them its unique quality. White Chinese silk is the canvas for her paintings. She uses different kinds of silk to provide variety to her product. Silk dyes and resist are used to paint on the silk. After painting, each scarf is allowed to dry for 24 hours. Then it is steam set under very high heat in a professional grade steamer, for 6-8 hours so that the dyes are permanently set on the fabric.
